The title character is a young Japanese woman of multiple talents, initially trained as an electronician but also skilled in airplane piloting, martial arts (karate, aikido, kyudo), computer programming, etc. Yoko Tsuno first appeared in "Spirou" magazine on 24 September, 1970. Her stories are published in eight-page instalments and then reprinted in album form.
